Getting Started with DoublePane
Before using DoublePane, a System Preference needs to be set which will allow DoublePane to reposition windows on your behalf
OS X Mavericks (10.9) and Later
On first launch OS X Mavericks will prompt you to grant access to DoublePane
Click "Open System Preferences" button to bring up the Security & Privacy System Preferences.
Click the lock to enable the list of applications in this list, then click the checkbox next to DoublePane.
DoublePane is now ready to use.
OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) and Earlier
On first launch DoublePane will prompt you to "Enable Access for Assistive Devices".
Click on the "Open Universal Access" Button to bring up the Universal Access System Preferences
Clicking the "Enable access for assistive devices" and DoublePane is ready for use.
Using DoublePane
DoublePane presents itself as an onscreen menu bar item. It should be in the upper right corner of the screen near the clock and volume controls.

The Current Window
DoublePane operates on the currently selected window. This is usually the frontmost window of the actively running application.
Moving Left
Selecting “Move Left” from the DoublePane menu will reposition the current window to the left half of the screen.
Moving Right
Selecting “Move Right” from the DoublePane menu will reposition the current window to the right half of the screen.
Filling the Screen
Selecting “Fill Screen” from the DoublePane menu will reposition the current window so that it fills the screen.
Restoring Windows
Selecting “Restore” from the DoublePane menu will reposition the current window to its original size and position prior to moving it with DoublePane. This feature is disabled until you perform your first “Move Left”, “Move Right”, or “Fill Screen” action.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Holding down the “ctrl” and “alt/option keys” and pressing the left, right or up arrow keys allow you to easily reposition the current window at any time without using the mouse. The following table outlines DoublePanes keyboard shortcuts.

Preferences
Selecting “Preferences…” from the DoublePane menu brings up the Preferences Window.
Starting DoublePane at Login
Clicking the “Start DoublePane at login” checkbox in the Preferences Window will allow DoublePane to startup when you login to your computer.
Hiding DoublePane from menu bar
Deselect the “Show DoublePane in menu bar” checkbox in the Preferences Window to hide DoublePane from the menu bar. After hiding DoublePane, you can bring up the Preferences Window again by double clicking on DoublePane in the Applications folder or clicking DoublePane in the Dock.
Customizing Keyboard Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts for each DoublePane action can be customized by clicking on each shortcut and typing a keyboard combination. One or more modifier keys such as Command, Shift, Control, or Option must be pressed along with the desired key.
Multiple Displays Support
DoublePane supports multiple displays using the same Move Left and Move Right actions described above. Performing a Move Left action repeatedly will move the currently selected window to the left display. Performing a Move Right action repeatedly will move the currently selected window to the right display. These actions also work for displays arranged in an up and down configuration.
